Sunrise is mine!

Remember the amazing giveaway Heidi had the other week for her beautiful Sunrise quilt? Well, I was the lucky winner! (I'm guessing you all took my request on board and didn't challenge my entry?! Thanks!) It followed a well-worn quilty path from the US to my doorstep in under a week.
(How well-worn, you ask? Well, several weeks ago there was a parcel of fabric delivered here, from a quilt shop in the US, but addressed to a different name and a different number on our street. The postie obviously took one glance and assumed it must be mine, but Simon did the honourable thing and walked it down to the right house!)
This quilt is even more stunning in person that the photos show. I especially love the way Heidi has selectively carried some elements of both the quilting and piecing of the centre across the border.
Funnily enough, I already have a small quilt on my wall called Summer Sunset, made for me by Helen in the Four Seasons Quilt Swap!
This one is set to join it, but first I need to rearrange the wall, as I need to add some shelves, and I'm running out of space with the current (lack of) layout.
Thank you so very much, Heidi! Rest assured your work of art is in a loving home and will always be much appreciated.

  1. In a way, I am sure someone who already quilts deserves it more, because you really appreciate it. But someone who doesn't put out so much beauty already, like me, would love to have won it as well. And I actually got one of her checkbook covers as second prize to your prize. I did end up with one of her quilts as well, a Pay it Forward. And I absolutely LOVE IT, and feel SO VERY LUCKY to have it. I really love this Heidi. She is such an amazing lady. You got a beautiful quilt, it reminds me of your amazing work. So it fits you well. Congrats!
