I'm really pleased with these blocks. All 16 are done and trimmed, and I've removed the foundations from most. They were a lot faster to make; not so much the number of pieces, but the construction meant I could sew and press 2 pieces at a time, each block is on a single foundation, and the limited palette meant I didn't have to spread them all out and try and get an even colour distribution about a dozen times as I did with the rainbow palms. Although I did place white where there should have been blue twice, and had to unpick!
And th paper removal? Well, it's bene taking an average of 6 minutes per block - a whole lot better than over 20 minutes for those palm blocks!

Next I need to work out the layout after a play with the Symmetry tool, which would you choose?
A: This was my original layout, all the white would be stippled in white thread:
B: This would have blue feature quilting in the 5 'diamonds' and the rest of the white stippled in white:
C: This one could have blue stippling in the white 'ring' or centre and white on the rest of the white:
Please leave me a comment with your favourite layout.

Very pretty!
They are all so beautiful. I like the B layout best.
I like B the best! That's going to be a lovely quilt when finished. :-)
the last one
I like the first and the last best :)
I like them all, but I think I like the first one best. We're not helping are we? ;)
It's going to be a lovely quilt regardless of layout, that said, i like B the best! I can't wait to see it finished!
Lovely! I like B and C the best, maybe C just a little more :)
B.
What do I win?

I like B the best. It must be great to preview your design like that. I need EQ obviously.
I love A, I think it's the most striking.
B is fine too, but not to fussed about C.
I'm sure you will choose well whatever and it will look stunning.
